Which Hansen speaker
is right for your listening room?
Here are some recommendations
from Lars Hansen himself.

THE KING V2

“Each Hansen Audio speaker is designed to be the best loudspeaker possible within specific size limitations — limitations that I deliberately imposed for the sake of practicality. THE KING V2, the flagship of the line, easily fills large rooms with full power and full frequency response. To achieve that, I incorporated a so-called MTM driver configuration — the tweeter is placed between two midrange drivers — which along with its two woofer/subwoofers gives it the ability to fill a 40 x 60 foot room, a feat some consider astonishing for a speaker just 63 inches high x 19 inches wide x 20.5 inches deep. Kings are suitable for considerably smaller rooms as well, provided listeners are seated at least 6 to 8 feet away from the front of them. Because all Hansen Audio speakers have very wide radiation capability, Kings as well as Princes and Knights should be placed at least a couple of feet away from the walls adjacent to and behind them.”

THE PRINCE V2

“I designed THE PRINCE V2 to be the best 42-inch high speaker achievable. I chose that height because it’s acceptable to most listeners and their spouses. A pair of Princes can easily fill a room as large as 20 x 30 feet with full power response, and it should be noted that this model uses the same drivers as the King. The Prince, though, is a point source, which is to say the tweeter and a single midrange driver are mounted close together, and only one woofer/subwoofer is employed. That allows the Prince to be positioned even more closely to listeners and suits it for smaller rooms than the King.”

THE KNIGHT

“THE KNIGHT was designed for those who want a speaker with a very small footprint. Knights, which incorporate our Version 2 technology, will give you a substantial percentage of what Kings deliver but are suitable for very small rooms or environments where the listener simply cannot put a more physically imposing speaker. Knights utilize the same driver technology as Kings and, if asked to, a pair of Knights will comfortably fill a 20 x 30 foot room with sound. Though the laws of physics prevent it from producing the very lowest bass frequencies, it does reach all the way down to 29 Hz.”
